IMAP Documents: RFCs and Drafts

These documents define draft, proposed, and other standards relevant to the Internet Message Access Protocol. The Internet standards process, and the status of these documents, is discussed in Internet Official Protocol Standards. The current IMAP base specification is RFC 3501: Internet Message Access Protocol - Version 4rev1. A capability registry (as specified in section 7.2.1 of RFC 2060) was established in early 1999. Additional documents about Internet email and a discussion of the standards process, can be found on the Internet Mail Consortium Web site.
